To the South Fork Board of Trustees:

We are writing today to inform you that our family will not be facilitating the South Fork Farmer’s Market this summer of 2012 and beyond. This summer will be a busy one for our family with the marriage of Laurie and Dan, and as our family continues to grow and evolve, we don’t believe that we can continue to commit the time required for proper management of the market.

We have enjoyed seeing the market grow from its inception through the five years under our management. We want to thank the Town of South Fork for its support in providing the visitor’s center parking lot for our marketplace as well as the market promotion and advertising provided by Town staff. It was a very rewarding experience to work with our group of dedicated vendors who made an exceptional effort to be present every market Friday with their goods. It was also very heartening to have a core of committed locals who attended the market week after week to support the valley’s vendors. And, of course, the ongoing flux of tourists helped to round out the market with fresh interest each week.

Please know that we would be highly supportive of any individuals or entities that may want to take on the organization and management of the market from here forward. We would be happy to mentor someone this spring and can provide the business protocols and other information that would be useful for a smooth transition.
